This is one of several guitars I have listed. I purchased this guitar to restore and just have not been able to get around to addressing the guitar.
Here is an unmarked parlor guitar I believe dates to the 1920/30's, likely made by Lyon & Healy of Chicago under one of various Brand Names such as Regal, Washburn and others.
Overall in very good condition with no cracks that I can see, though there are a few dings and surface scars. The upper bout measures 9 1/2" and the lower bout 13 1/4" making this an "0" sized guitar. The body depth at the top neck joint is 3" deep and 3 1/2" deep at the bottom. The neck has a pronounced 'V" shape. The scale length measures 12 1/8" from nut to the 12th fret.
This guitar is ladder braced with four scalloped braces. There is one above the sound hole, one below the sound hole, one above the bridge and one below the bridge.
The rare woods make it quite desirable, especially the solid rosewood back and sides. The lovely purfling on the sides , back and center strip of the guitar is in very good condition though some of the finish is worn. The elaborate purling and tonewoods point to a higher end guitar in the manufacturer's range. The frets are original and I believe are steel, though they may be brass. The nut is original as is the lovely carved (ebony?) bridge, saddle and tailpiece.the center strip shows a bit of separation from the back wood. Many of these minor flaws are marked with pink arrows. There are doubtless other minor issues that i have failed to mark. Please look at the photos closely and ask all questions or phots early for a reply.
As I don't have a case for the guitar, it will double boxed before shipping. A signature will be required for this insured delivery.
