The unique Buzzards Field bass banjolele / banjo bass is Tuned E-A-D-G and strung with Aquila Thundergut strings, it produces full bass-pitched notes. Played acoustically it produces more volume than solid wooden-bodied basses - enough volume to accompany a quieter instrument such as a ukulele. Alternatively, it has a standard jack-output for amplification.
Extensive upgrades on this version include an innovative piezo pickup arrangement with volume control, D shaped neck, re-profiled head-stock for better string alignment, aluminum strengthened wooden tailpiece, and a re-contoured and extended saddle. The neck and fretboard is finished in super tactile shellac.
Built around a 12 inch Remo frame drum (with a humidity proof synthetic head), all of the wooden parts are cut and finished by hand.
Presently, these instruments are built to order. Usual turn around time is 7 days.
