Description: Antique handmade violin constructed likely in the early 18th century. Possibly by the maker listed but with no known examples to compare his handwork. Unique one-piece back of nicely flamed medium to medium wide irregular curl maple. The ribs of medium fine flamed curl maple, scroll similar. The neck of nicely flamed med curl maple. The ribs of medium fine flamed curl maple, scroll is similar. The neck of nicely flamed med curled maple. The one piece top of medium grain spruce. The varnish is a reddish brown with a golden ground. Set up with ebony fittings.
Condition: in a good playing condition showing recent work. Showing it’s age and use with multiple top and back cracks repaired. Back damage repairs at the button. Scroll repairs at the mid section. Overall great playing condition.
