Rick Allen's Def Leppard, Custom Zildjian/Hart Dynamics 13" Dyno-Beat Hi Hat Bottom Trigger (RA #4004) AUTOGRAPHED!!
Another ingenious Rick Allen innovation!! Once Rick Allen started experimenting with electronic drums in the mid-1980s, he's never stopped. He is constantly pushing the limits electronic drums and constantly searching for ways to improve them.
In the mid 1990s, Rick had the epiphany to trigger short 1/4 and 1/2 measure percussion loops from his hi-hats. In the very earliest versions, his tech at the time, Tony Moon hot glued simple Piezo triggers to his bottom hi-hat cymbal. He eventually devised this more sophisticated trigger hi-hat cymbal with Peter Hart at Hart Dynamics. It's actually pretty basic, just a Hart sensor attached to his bottom hi-hat cymbal. The vibration picked up by the Hart sensor triggered a sampled hi-hat sound that was mixed with the acoustic hi-hat sound from the microphones. He continued to use these trigger hi-hats with Def Leppard from 1995-2018.
Rick's longtime tech, Jeff Diffner talks extensively about these hi-hats and the many details of Rick's Def Leppard touring set in the video below.
This custom cymbal trigger has been tested and it works as intended. The cymbal is personally signed by Rick Allen. We're also going to include a surprise package of 3 items from the collection of official Def Leppard tour passes and artifacts seen in the first photo.
Includes a COA signed by Rick Allen.
