The early fifties Gibson ES-175's are a special group, being lighter in construction and overall more acoustic than their later counterparts. The single pickup version remains highly valuable for jazz players, who often prefer a single neck pickup version. This example is in great condition for its age, with all the right original electronics. It has a lovely warm jazz tone to it and the P-90 offers a warm and full single pickup sound. It remains all original save for the string ground resoldered to the tailpiece, and a metal plate has been installed around the output jack to reinforce the break. Serial #972366, comes with a non original case.
