This guitar comes from the era in Mosrite history when Semie Moseley was resurrecting the brand by building the instruments himself by hand, and it shows. If you’re looking for an affordable vintage guitar, this one blows the competition away. No catalog guitar or anything like it compares.
The neck plays like a dream, the action is fast, and the pickups can jangle or snarl depending on where you set the tone knob— think of them like high output humbucking Jazzmaster pickups in a hardtail guitar that looks like Salvador Dali’s idea of a telecaster…
The bad news is that a previous owner took a router to the back of the guitar to relieve some weight. Other than that, everything is there on this thing. This does not effect function or playability, and I’ve ensured that the strap buttons are secure.
In Mono mode, the controls work like a Les Paul— 3 way pickup selector with independent Volume & Tone controls for each pickup. In Stereo mode each pickup can be sent to a different amplifier.
Make it yours and see what the Mosrite thing is all about. You’ll understand why the designs have endured 60+ years.
