When Bill released the L90 in 1976 he revolutionized the guitar industry by releasing a new pickup design with twin blades. At that time there were two models, the L90 4.0 and L90 6.0. This pickup was released in an era when the PAF dominated and the L90 is a high performance pickup with no feedback, securely mounted, no hum and has a beautiful low-end creamy sound.
When we re-issued the program in 2006 Bill extended the model choices by adding the 2.0, 2.8, and 8.0 models for a wider market demand for more players today.
The classic set from the 70's is the L90 4.0 and 6.0. Typically the 2.0, 2.8 and the 4.0 are typically used in the neck position and the 6.0 and 8.0 are typically used in the bridge position.
