Studio Electronics SE3X Special Edition White

toys that make noise is happy to present a Special Edition of the Studio Electronics SE3X. The same SE3X that hitmakers, film composers, and sound designers have used for decades, with a brand new internal feedback loop option with a new White Panel faceplate.

The SE3X is a three-voice Paraphonic synth with four discrete, classic hardware filters. More details below.

New Internal Feedback Loop – MIDI Controllable 

The added internal feedback loop is an exciting new sonic feature added to this Special Edition White SE3X, expanding the already vast tonal landscape. Located in the envelope section, the switch on the front panel selects either noise or the feedback loop in the mixer section. This allows feedback settings to be part of the patch program.

VCOs: 3 Voltage Controlled Discrete Analog Oscillators: OSC 1 waveforms: triangle, sawtooth, variable width square; OSC 2 waveforms: sine, sawtooth, variable width square; OSC 3 waveforms: triangle, sawtooth, variable width square. All waveforms output simultaneously. OSC 1 syncs to OSC 2, 3.

VCFs: 4 Voltage Controlled Discrete Analog Filters: SE Classic 24dB Moog®; SE Classic 24dB ARP®; SE Classic Juno/Jupiter 24dB, 12dB, and Mix modes; SE Classic 12dB Oberheim® filter incorporating Low Pass & Band Pass modes. Oberheim filter frequency range has been expanded by a whole tone.

Envelopes: 4 Multiple Stage Envelope Generators: attack, decay, sustain, release with inverting & multiple triggering. Envelope 1 fixed to filter frequency. Envelope 2 fixed to amplifier level. Envelopes 3 & 4 are assignable. ADSR speed increased from standard SE-1X.

LFOs: 3 Low Frequency Oscillators: triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, noise, random waveforms. One destination/amount for each LFO with key trigger, phase, clock-divisible MIDI-sync, auto-gate.

Glide: Linear or exponential glide (portamento), auto glide.

Fuzz: Switchable fixed value hardware amplifier overdrive for saturated distortion: 70’s (soft fuzz), 90’s (hard fuzz).

Presets: 4 factory banks, 4 designer banks
