What makes this guitar special? This is a solid playing bass with a serious late ‘70s, early ‘80s vibe, apt and accurate for its likely early ‘80s production. The red gloss finish over the ash wings expresses the wood’s natural figuring beautifully and adds a little depth and color to its natural palette. The pickup in this bass sounds great and with the addition of both passive and active controls, spans a good amount of territory in terms of tone, making it surprisingly versatile. The brass nut and bridge add a little extra tonal flair to boot. The medium round neck will be familiar to a variety of players and is comfortable from the nut to the cutaway. Considering it is about 35 years old, it is still in great shape and will surely be a solid addition to any bass player’s roster, especially at this price.

Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall. It does possess light surface scratches, small finish chips and cracks, and some dings and dents throughout the body and neck, but is still in great shape and plays the same. The frets show only light wear and still have quite a bit of life left in them. The neck is comfortable nut to cutaway and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Double cutaway offset body of laminated ash, maple, and walnut in gloss finish. Fixed brass bridge with individually adjustable brass saddles. Black top hat knobs and nickel mini-toggles. Matsumoku stamped neck plate.

Neck: 3-ply medium round maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. 1 1/2” brass nut. 34” scale.

Electronics: Split single-coil pickup. 1 x volume, 1 x active tone, 1 x passive tone control, 1 x active on/off, 1 x dual tone mini toggle.

Weight: 9 lbs 11.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The medium round neck on this bass is very comfortable, easy to move around, and will be a familiar shape to many players. The pickup sounds great overall, and in combination with the extensive active and passive controls, provide a fantastic range of tones from monster low end to light and subtle thump.

Case: No case included.
