Selling my History ZLC90-CFS from early 2003. History is the upscale "House Brand" for Shimamura Music in Japan, manufactured by the legendary FujiGen Gakki company (the same ones who've also made Japanese Epiphones, Fender Japan, Orville by Gibson, Ibanez, Greco, Burny, and now FGN as their own brand). If you've played anything FujiGen, you know that the quality and craftsmanship is impeccable.

Specs:

  • Manufactured in early 2003 based on the serial number
  • Mahogany body with maple cap, heelless deep-set long-tenon mahogany neck with a nice looking rosewood fretboard.
  • In great shape for a 21 year old guitar, some small dings throughout and scratches on the back, two sizable dings on the back of the body and front of the headstock (pictured). Everything appears to be stock except for the added poker chip.
  • Stock Louis BH-1 pickups measure 7.69k in the bridge and 7.53k in the neck, but sound hotter than one would expect. Likely ceramic magnets, can clean up nicely but sound like rock and roll.
  • Has the expected luxurious multi-ply binding throughout, tasteful inlays, and naturally aged original gold Gotoh hardware and Grover tuners.
  • Patented, proprietary Circle Fretting System for improved intonation and more accurate pitch throughout the fretboard.
  • Cleaned inside and out, set up with a fresh set of .009s and low action (1.5mm @12th fret low E, 1.4mm @12 fret high e). Frets have some wear but have lots of life left and nothing is substantially buzzing. It could use a level and dress if you want the action lower, happy to negotiate if you want me to do it.
  • 8.7 pounds, 43 mm nut width, comfortable soft C neck, 0.85" @1st fret, 0.98" @12th fret.
  • Includes History branded high quality hardshell case (which appears to have been signed by two members of the Japanese band FACT).

Anyway, it's a great playing and great sounding LPC copy, Gibson quality at an Epiphone price. Really resonant acoustically, current stock pickups are good and sound like rock and roll. Has been loved and played a lot but not abused. Happy to calculate actual shipping if you send me your zip code (it's probably less).
