About This Listing

Up for sale is a beautiful custom 1950's Langevin/Altec Tube Recording console with 4 Langevin 251A equalizers, 4 early and extremely rare 1950's Altec 428B Tube Preamplifiers,  1950's Cinema Engineering Attenuators, massive 1950's ADC/UTC input/output transformers, a passive LCR mix buss based off the original 1950's Langevin catalog circuit and Opamp Labs 425 amplifiers for the makeup gain. Huge UTC LS-151 input transformers were added for line inputs along with a custom Switchcraft switch panel that allows you to switch between Mic, LL (Low Level / Instrument), or HL (High Level / Line Level) for the input. Mic level goes directly to the Altec 428B preamps, and the Line/Instrument inputs pass through the UTC LS-151 line bridging input transformers before going into the Altec 428B preamps for makeup gain. The "off" position on each channel feeds the post fader EQ output to a (-10dbu) direct out for each channel (for a higher output level during tracking I usually patch the channel direct out into a second gain stage such as a Langevin AM-5116 or Altec 9470A) . There is a L/R output (1950's ADC output transformers), Mono Output (UTC output transformer) and Stereo Monitor Output (1950's ADC output transformers). No expense was spared on the restoration of this console and only the finest vintage components were selected out of my inventory to restore the desk to like new condition.

This console is currently in use and is the finest sounding tube mixer I've ever used - great for tracking individual instruments, or submixing instruments for adding in a beautiful tube preamp/inductor EQ coloration to your tracks. Shipping will be approximately $500 via YRC freight to anywhere in the domestic USA. Local pickup is welcome and encouraged. Shipping worldwide possible via air freight.

Feel free to write with any questions about the desk. Due to the nature of 50+ year vintage electronics no warranty is implied or expressed. Thank you!
