If Reverb offered a "Near Mint" condition this would fall into that category. This turntable belongs in a Sansui museum. You would be hard-pressed to find one in a better state of condition. Please inspect all photos as I have tried to show all "blemishes" that I am aware of. The rear label and SN sticker are peeling slightly. I have attempted to show the condition of the dust cover but it is difficult to see "micro" scratches in photos. It is not perfect BUT as near as can be expected from a piece of this age. It is beautiful and I hate to sell it, but at this point, lack of use makes keeping it a travesty. It needs a new home with an appreciative owner who will use it. I can find nothing wrong with it mechanically. It is a brilliant piece of gear and a steal at what I'm letting it go for. It has the original headshell fitted with a Shure M95ED sporting a new (ish) aftermarket stylus. It will be packed well. I will remove the platter and pack it separately. I will remove the feet, headshell, antiskate weight and counter weight and pack them separately. The tonearm will be secured to the rest. The unit will be wrapped at least four inches of bubble wrap, all around. THIS WILL REQUIRE THE TT TO BE SETUP BEFORE USE. Original manual included.

From Vinyl Engine Dot Com:

Sansui engineers working on the SR-525 made no claims or promises until they were sure of their results.

They thought they were on the trail of a significant breakthrough in turntable excellence, and they were right.

Now that the SR525 is ready for marketing, their secrets can be revealed.

One, they have refined the rotor position sensor mechanism in combination with a 20-pole, 30-slot brushless DC servomotor with a saturable core to perfect the most accurate, most silently running direct-drive system the industry has ever seen.

Two, they have lowered wow and flutter to a negligible 0.03% and boosted S/N to a high 64dB with the use of a mirror finished spindle and sleeve combination.

Three, they have the finest Sansui S-shaped tonearm, incorporating a special resonance-absorber for it to totally eliminate resonance, and used a knife-edge support system to ensure the lowest friction performance they've ever achieved.

And finally, the SR525 is equipped with a solid, die-cast aluminum headshell, a stroboscopic pitch control system, electronic speed-change controls and a number of other advanced features to further guarantee maximum performance excellence and ease of operation.

The biggest secret is how Sansui has held it's price to and even below the level of comparable belt-drive models.
