Mid Century Masterpiece! ….was the Stratocaster design , and I decided to give this one the full flavor. Another Select Vintage build! Desert Sand , or is it dessert ? Orange creamsicle guard ! Youll be the only one with these colors at the open mic night ! Another Select Vintage Strat partscaster build, or as I like to say partsmaster ! I added a few photos of different guards to let you see what it looks like with cream, dark tortise and red tortise guards but I think the orange nails the mid century look! Getting the right combos gives you the chance to own what you would build in your dreams and no else seems to put together. Unique and perfect combos!

About Select Vintage builds:
Carefully Curated Combos ! My goal is to bring to you guitars that stand out, in desirable combinations not usually offered for sale. I have built, restored , refinished and modified hundreds of guitars over the last 40 years. Im aiming to marry nice, original Fender or quality aftermarket bodies and necks back into a nice guitar with a killer look and clear out all these orphan parts for sale, and more so , parts casters that are built wrong , or in unappealing combinations. I am trying to stop all the waste in the world and put together more of the amazing Stratocaster that Fender gave us last century, while using as many of their original parts as possible, then licensed parts. This is a time consuming labor of love.
With dozens of bodies and necks in hand at one time, I can pair them in the most complimentary combos with regard to appearance, tone , playability , cost and desirability. So even if you have it for a while and sell , you won’t loose your shirt, and ideally you will love it, have it as a favorite you will enjoy for a long time, and play with out worry cause it didn’t break the bank. And hopefully appreciate the time and aggravation of trying to get one together yourself if you are a busy person or unskilled in guitar making. If you are considering a new Fender , I say save up or charge it and go for it. They make a good instrument these days. If you choose a custom assembled Strat, I hope you’ll choose mine.
Also for every one I sell I will be donating ( at least $20 per sale) to Fenders make music foundation ( or what ever charity they are running for the year) in order to support music making and the company that started it all.
Using the basics like stock tuners and generic pickups I can keep costs down to keep the prices down and you can upgrade all you like with the money saved, and I bet you all have a set of pickups or tuners you have waiting to get on a new guitar.
I don’t relic! Im not really into it unless its really that old. Aging a guitar its the one thing you , the buyer can do that you can’t screw up ! So watch some online videos and hit your new guitar with some chains and sandpaper ! But its nice to have a nice new shiny (mostly ) guitar! On occasion I will get an aged body and use it in a build
Most of my builds contain an easy to use connector with secure screw terminals so there is no soldering if you want to swap out a loaded pick guard of your own! Its a reliable signal and when you feel set on your pickups/electronics choices you can always have them soldered in. The terminals I use are from the alarm and communications industry , so they transmit a good signal and won’t come loose.
If the need for a slightly higher priced guitars come up, I will start to add Fender pickups to the builds , but it seems futile, most players want totally different pickups, and with so many choices there’s no point in putting Texas specials in when only a portion of buyers will want them, so that’s up to you and there should be enough left over to go after the exact sound you are looking for ! But you start with a fully functioning guitar that can be quickly upgraded
Last , if you have a combination in mind I will put it together for you ! Just send me a message as at any time I have dozens of necks and bodies in stock. Only thing is I typically won’t swap out necks bodies in a finished guitar already up for sale. Select Vintage I/we have no affiliation with Fender Musical instruments
Thanks for your time !
