This is one beast of a later 60's Hoyer full hollow body. It does show wear and has modified and no doubt someone put their soul into this one. I will tell you as detailed as I can about it. Closest model is a Model 75. Looks like a one off considering the crescent moon/star inlay on the cutaways. Laminated maple top and ebony fingerboard. Ornate headstock inlay as well. Beautiful neck joint. Finish checking throughout.
This looks to be (from the Hoyer catalog) a late 60's Barney Kessel style with factory Hoyer branded bigsby style trem.
The tremolo was missing it's arm and spring as well as part of it has a home made part. I bought an arm but the spring size I could not find. it is smaller than a Bigsby spring. So it is "hardtailed. Originally this would have had single coil pickups as seen in the brochure photo. Someone put humbuckers in it and tried to keep the original single surrounds. It wasn't pretty so I redid that and made it much better and more original looking with the 3 screw look. I also made it so the pickups can adjust. It is not perfect, but good. Concerning the pickups I put out a search and inquiry on them and their number and was told adamantly that they were Gibson. I personally can't guarantee that but It was a fiery discussion on a forum. Bid accordingly. One of the switches by the Tremolo is bypassed. As well, the rewired electronics are so the rear set control the neck and the front set control the bridge. So, backward I suppose. Original bridge and saddle. Missing a section neck of binding on the treble side (see pic). Another odd thing Hoyer did is the block inlay treatment. They basically put in the block and the added a resin to make it look 3 piece. You can see in the brochure that only the model 75 has 3 piece inlay. I thought someone may have added this but it is definately a Hoyer thing. There is a large piece of foam inside the guitar for feedback reasons I assume. I left it in as it deos help at high gain. The Hoyer label is under it. So there you have it. Please ask ALL questions prior to purchase and I'll do my best to help. I can also send photos you may need. Comes it new Gator hard case.
