Selling a very rare precision bass body from the early 70's. Original custom color candy apple red with no additional routing. This is a very cool body with a very rare finish for this time period. Ive seen original CAR, early 70's P bass's sell for about $5000 so this is a great chance to put one together for less. I originally received this body with a 1970 precision neck (listed seperately). However, looking at the neck pocket stamps. i do not believe they are original to each other. Its possible, but the stamps on this body are more consistent with 1972 or 1973 bodies. It also had a late 72/early 73 serial number on the neckplate.

The body is not prisitine as it does have quite a few dings and come chips. There is also heavy weather checking all over the body which i think looks amazing.
This is also a lightweight body, definitely not a boat anchor. It has a very thin finish so it resonates really well.

If anyone is interested in the bass as i received it, i would be willing to part for around $3k. The parts are:
-1970 p bass neck - rosewood with original finish and frets (a bit low) and in great shape
original
- original no trademark "R" tuners
- original bridge with the original long "G" string screw
-1972/73 F neckplate with gasket
-5th week of 1973 pots and jack
-gold anondized pickguard
-late 60's/early70's blackbottom pickups that have been rewound by lindy fralin
 with new leads
I would also include an 80's vintage reissue tweed case.
