Incredible sounding MkII Tonebender from Brad (of Fu Manchu fame) aka Creepy Fingers. This one is packed with a trio of OC75’s (the guts alone are a work of art!), and it’s just massive sounding. The bias knob makes it far more versatile than your typical MKII, many varied fuzztones to be had and it generates some really great overdriven tones as well with the guitar’s volume knob rolled back. Really a sonic work of art inside and out, admittedly I prefer this one to the last D*A*M MKII I owned. A bit more description here, thanks for looking and have a great day :)
****I’ll be leaving town Dec.17th for at least a few months, so if you want this amazing fuzz please grab it ASAP so I can get it in the mail. I will be pulling the listing at that point, and it will likely not be put back up for sale. Thanks!****
The Tone Bender MkII and the Marshall Supafuzz are almost identical. Only 3 components are different. This pedal has a bias knob which allows you to adjust how the circuit "gates" on the end of notes. Clockwise is more like the MkII, which gates a little more which is nice to cut down on hiss when you have the attack knob on its higher gain settings. Counter clockwise will take you more in the Supafuzz direction which sounds great at lower attack settings and allows you to clean up the sound using your guitar volume knob.
The knobs from left to right are volume, bias (aka gate), and attack. Volume adjusts the output volume. Attack controls the amount of distortion. When the bias knob is turned clockwise the fuzz will start gating meaning the notes below a certain volume threshold will cut off. This is useful for suppressing noise and hiss when using the pedal in its higher attack settings. The stock circuit has some gentle gating to it. If the pedal is being used in its lower attack settings there will be less hiss so the gate can be backed off by turning the bias counter clockwise. This will make for a more natural sustain and will let you clean up the fuzz by rolling down the guitars volume knob. Read less
