Now here is a really sweet kit!! A Gretsch 1980s square badge 20,12,14 set with a matching deep snare is the kind of set that drummer's dreams are made of. This set can soar with the best in any jazz, funk or pop setting. Perfect sizes for the studio. This set actually spent much of it's life in Heart guitarist, Howard Leese's home recording studio.

Overall the set looks great. There's several scuffs and scrapes, all visible in the photos, but ultimately a great looking set with tons of vibe. The worst scuff is of course, right on the front of the rack tom where it's the most visible. The pictures depict the condition accurately.

There is a bit of ding damage to the front edge of the bass drum towards the bottom (shown in the 3rd to last photo). There's no structural damage, modifications or unoriginal holes. Edges are great. The ball and arm from the original Gretsch tom mount have been removed. The original Gretsch tom mount receivers remain on the rack tom and bass drum. There is no tom holder included. There are 2 holes in the front bass hoop from what appear to be an original Gretsch bass drum anchor. These holes are visible in some of the front shots of the bass.

The set includes the 14x20" bass drum, 14x14" floor tom, 8x12" tom and 6x14" matching snare drum. The snare and toms have their original cast hoops. The original Gretsch bass spurs and floor tom legs are included. The cymbals, stands and hardware in the photos are not included.

The snare drum included with this set is well worth the price of admission, it feels so good to lay into it, and has a nice deep crack and a ton of definition. The drums have been cleaned, refurbished and tune up to a nice solid Jazz sound or down to a nice and funky thud. New Remo Ambassadors overall, and an original Gretsch front bass drum head.
