This Sears Silvertone 1485 (6x10) is part of the private collection of Billie Joe Armstrong.
Unlike Silvertone's 1484 Twin Twelve the 1485 acts as it’s 120 Watt counterpart. A higher wattage 6L6-based tube amp, originally sold in a "piggyback" configuration through the Sears catalog from 1963 - 1967. Similar in sound and function to blackface Fender Bassman amps, but with additional features -- a strong, vibe-dripping tremolo and a reverb that...well...let's just say the reverb exists. At the end of the gig or session, the head tucks into the bottom of the cabinet for ease of transport.
Featured heavily on Uno, Dos & Tre, this beauty shows some significant wear for it’s age. Tolex has been worn from the bottom corners and some mild staining on the amp face itself including a drip of candle wax across the front. Significant crack in the right side of the amp head. We advise being gentle with this giant.
While this amp could use a some cleaning, the majority of the functionality checks out. We have done out best to capture all cosmetic issues with our photographs here on the site. Please enjoy.
Several of the pots are scratchy but began clearing up the more they were turned. Will likely need some contact cleaner. Amp fires up without issue. No foot switch is included. All amp channels function. The Vibrato on this amp is amazing. Pairing this with the reverb is absolutely magical sounding. Does not come with it’s own speaker cable. It should also be noted that this amp is HEAVY. A beast of a Silvertone.
All items in Billie's Reverb Shop ship fully insured with a signed and embossed Certificate Of Authenticity by Billie Joe Armstrong.
