All of my single humbucker guitars, like this, have a coil-split circuit that I have been using for years. When you rotate the tone control to full treble, (10),  it automatically fades out one of the coils. It actually blends it in and out as you tastefully dial the tone knob between 8 and 10.  

8 and 7 is back to full humbucker for that muscular, yet sweeter dual coil sound. I did not invent this. It has been used by major guitar manufacturers, such as Peavey, but no one seems to know about it. It’s a great feature. The single coil sound is very believable and adds a great depth and personality to an otherwise single-humbucker guitar.

The humbucker sound is sweet and jazzy when needed, and especially nice for solos. Sometimes an ensemble can fall into a crowded mid-range rumble where a humbucker almost disappears. The single coil sound shows up with sparkle and clarity especially when accompanying a solo and comping. You just spin the tone control towards 10 and your chords show up beautifully.
