FYI this item is currently on eBay being auctioned off. Starting bid is $130. The US Vox Royal Guardsman, Buckingham, Viscount, and V1141 Beatle included this accessory four button foot pedal. This pedal controlled reverb, tremolo, distortion (fuzz) and MRB (mid range boost). A red pilot lamp illuminated to indicate that the distortion was engaged. If you look closely, you will notice that there is a red colored washer under the distortion switch mechanism.
This foot pedal becomes an extension of the control panel as the switch for the distortion feature is located only on the foot pedal. There is no way to actuate the fuzz without the pedal.
The MRB (Mid Range Boost) foot switch is unique in that it does not have an indicator lamp and it does not have a latching mechanism. It is a "momentary" style switch. One must hold the button down to engage the effect. When you release the button, MRB is turned off.
This foot switch can only be used in those amplifiers who's model number ends in a 1 or a 2. Not a. 3. Do not use this foot switch with any amplifier not specifically made for it. Using this foot switch may cause damage if the amplifier was not specifically made for it.
Letter "T" operates the Tremolo. Letter "R" operates the Reverb. Letter "D" operates the distortion/Fuzz circuit but only for those models that incorporate the "Fuzz" circuit. Letter "M" operates the Mid-Range Boost. Once again, the Mid-Range Boost button is a momentary contact switch, not a latch, that must be depressed for the circuit to be on. This is a vintage Vox design.
This Vox 4 Button Foot Switch is in excellent working condition. I only list it as very good in order to conform to Reverbs listing explanation. It does have some scars from years of use on the body (see pics) as to be expected.
The foot switch comes with a 15 foot cord that boast a 6 pin connector. If you were to purchase this item then you would be quite pleased. Especially since you may only be able to access certain features of your amplifier using this foot switch.
