Martin 1-17 Parlor guitar. Serial number 49584. Good condition. Quite a rare piece of gear, only a few hundred of these were ever made. All mahogany body and neck, ebony fingerboard. Tuning keys and frets are original. The guitar is exceedingly light and quite loud for its size. It plays nicely and sounds great. I find the extra wide neck lends itself to classical play. I will include the pictured case which is not original and is oversized. If purchased for shipping, guitar will be packed inside the case in addition to inside the box.

  • BODY: A small crack in the back has been expertly repaired and is almost invisible (pictured). Original strap pin is missing. Finish has scratches, dents, and dings all over like you'd expect in a 90+ year old guitar that has seen a lot of play.
  • BRIDGE: The pictured bridge is not original, it is a warranty replacement from C.F. Martin. I have the original bridge in good condition and will include it in the sale. The original bridge is smaller and Martin supplies the new larger bridge under its lifetime warranty to increase the surface area for glue. The E6 bridge pin is not original and does not match the others. I don't know if the other are original but they look similar to other 1-17s I could find pictures of online.
  • TUNING KEYS: Two of the keys (B2 and G3) have lost their original screws. One screw was replaced (G3) and one key is missing a screw (B2, pictured). It still tunes. All tuning hardware besides the G3 screw is original.
  • NECK: Recently reset.
