Custom Orthey Autoharp

Beautiful custom-made Orthey Autoharp handmade by George Orthey in his Newport, PA workshop. Instrument #387 from the mid-90s with flower sound hole. Includes standard peg tuners and fine tuners on all strings as well as standard tuning wrench. Also includes custom hard-sided velvet interior case.

15 bar autoharp with custom quick-change mechanism and specialized chord bars able to provide full range of chromatic sound. Includes all 15 standard bars (Eb,Gm, Bb, F7, Dm, F, C7, Am, C, G7, G, D7, D, A7, E7) as well as 15 additional chord bars (Em, Bm, F#m, A, Cm, E, B, Am7, C#m, Bbm7, Ab, Am6, Cdim, C#dim, Ddim) and 5 additional custom bars (Cm7, Ebm, F#, Fm7, and 1 unmarked chord). There are also 3 full harp bars to make the harp into a diatonic (A, C, G) 5 uncut blanks, and bag of spare felts. Buttons installed for strap.

Small cosmetic damage on upper left corner of harp. Some of the extra bars and blanks have limited moth damage to the felts. Outside of case shows some wear (see photos). Not recently played, but well loved.
