THIS IS A PEARL SNARE DRUM-PICCOLO FREE FLOATING STEEL SHELL, I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 1997. It will be 27 years old tomorrow!!
I AM SELLING IT NOW BECAUSE I HAVE NO USE FOR IT ANYMORE. Clean, and SOUNDS EXCELLENT.
It is 3-1/2” x 14” with a free floating steel shell, black In color. It’s excellent condition, has been in storage for years, in a soft shell case. (Case included, Humes and Berg Galaxy soft sided case) I added a pure sound snare wire at one point in the past (a couple of wires are missing from the snare wires, no big problem) I gigged with this drum. Recorded with it, and it’s always performed as needed. The free floating technology is interesting, basically the shell is pinched between the lower and upper sets of lugs and rims. It is supposed to add to the resonance of the steel shell. Its loud, and cutting and very tunable, I loved using it as a primary snare drum, but it can be used auxiliary or as a side snare. It was $309 in 1997, I am asking a fair $275 (including case) it’s a rare one, there’s not very many second hand snares out there of this model, because everyone holds on to them. Make it yours, I know you’ll be happy with it, the intonation is great, you can hear light ghost notes clearly, as well as high cutting staccato strikes.
