The Ventures Model Mosrite Mark V Electric Guitar 1966 – True Vintage / Signed by Original Members

Made in USA. RARE!

Only around 800 Mark V guitars were made from ’66 to ’68.

This guitar has special provenance – my father is Don Wilson, the founding member of The Ventures. He signed this guitar. Also signed: the legendary Nokie Edwards. And two members of The Ventures who are now deceased: Bob Bogle and Mel Taylor.

This guitar is in perfect working condition, excellent vintage specimen. It comes with a hard-case (generic, not a Mosrite case). I have owned this instrument for approximately 20 years; it’s not been used and it’s been stored in a temperature-controlled, smoke-free climate. Please look at the photos carefully, feel free to ask questions, and be sure before you bid because returns are absolutely NOT accepted. I’m not a guitar dealer, I’m just an individual who’s downsizing so I’m not equipped to take returns (again: please look at the photos and ask questions!) I will ship by Fed Ex with tracking number and insurance.

ABOUT THE MOSRITE GUITAR

Mosrite was an American guitar company based in Bakersfield CA from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. Founded by Semie Mosely, an earlier Rickenbacker employee, Mosrite guitars were played by many rock and roll and country artists. Mosrite guitars were known for innovative design, high-quality engineering, very thin, low-fretted and narrow necks, and extremely high output pickups. This is Moseley's design for surf/pop band The Ventures, known as the Ventures Model.

Here's the original description from the Mosrite promotional materials (circa 1966):

The Mark V is similar to the Mark I with a few exceptions. Although smaller and lighter, this beautiful instrument maintains the same remarkable features so widely accepted in the original Semi Moseley design. It possesses a true and stay-tuned vibrato, a slender speed neck...lighter slim-fit body...the fuller range of high and lows...they're all there. This model meets the demands of a moderately priced instrument and is guaranteed to excite the most particular in music. A TRULY REMARKABLE INSTRUMENT.
