This is an extremely rare amp built by Mark Sampson and Rick Hamel. I have been the sole owner of this amp since 2004. The first time I heard one of these was at a John Mayer show. I found this one in Norman, OK and had to have it. I’m currently downsizing my gear and really hate to let go of this amp, but I need to. Read below for a description of the amp.
Mark Sampson is credited with the design of some famous brands of Class A tube guitar amplifiers. His amps are best known for superior sound, robust build, and lasting value. They continue to be sure investments. Mark started in tube circuitry design as a boy with his dad, working on vintage radio’s and televisions. He still tunes tube guitar rigs for pro players while always experimenting with new Class A tube circuits.
Rick Hamel is well known in the guitar industry for his original Class A tube circuitry designs and continues to develop very effective gain stages. He developed his own line of tube effects pedals (SIB). Rick has repaired and modified tube amps for pro players and started in analog circuitry as a telephone / communications engineer in the 1980’s while playing in Bands.

TWO CHANNEL: Clean CRUISE channel and High Gain HI-GEAR channel. Panel LED light for HI-GEAR engage. (Foot switch included.)
TONE CONTROLS: (Common to both channels.) Active Treble, Mid, and Bass + Bright. Push/Pull Master = HI-GEAR out.
REVERB: Spring pan with Reverb Level knob and Reverb Tone knob. This Reverb Tone circuit effectively crushes high frequency wash sounds when playing loud.
SONIC HATCH ™ : Flips up or down on cab back to vary compression; to instantly tune cab.
SMF LOGO: Lights up; spins when standby OFF.
Unique tube wall keeps vacuum tubes away from electronics.
Transformer mounted well away from electronics.
Mil. Spec. parts, industrial steel chassis, 11 ply birch cabinet, single Celestion Vintage 30 12″ speaker.
