Up for sale is my 1994 Jackson TBX Thunderbird-style bass. Beautiful Dark Metallic Violet paint that shines deep and clear (hard to capture). Poplar body with 21 fret through body maple neck. Rosewood fret board. Pearl sharkfin neck inlays. Upper contour on the body makes this a lil easier to play compared to a Gibson T-Bird in my opinion. No markings that I could find. Trimmed with black hardware including the Kahler bridge. Bound top is cream color as is the length of the neck and the headstock binding. Jackson screen logo on headstock. I believe the controls are 2 volume and 2 tone. EMG pickups. Active electronics. Sounds amazing from thunderous lows to crisp clear highs. All original to my knowledge. I’ve owned this bass for close to 20 years. On my Mickey Mouse bathroom scales it weighs somewhere from 8.8 to 9.2 or thereabouts. To me it doesn’t “feel” heavy. Includes OHSC and Jackson/Charvel warranty card. OHSC has some damage (cracked) on one of the corners. Another corner is pressed in a lil. Neither harm the bass and still protects it well. All latches work fine. One of the case “lid-straps”(?) is undone (could probably be hot glued back). Case interior is excellent.
This bass is not for the feint of heart. And you won’t have to worry about seeing another one like it at GC. Only made 2 years. In my opinion it’s the baddest of the Thunderbirds, probably only outdone by Entwistle’s cool Fenderbird. I have 2 Gibson Thunderbirds, one of which I will be listing when I get a minute. And it too is not your run of the mill Bird. Shipping via UPS to the Continental US for a Flat fee of $125. The case is huge compared to a J or P bass...No trades please. For $50 I can hand deliver this bass to Nashville, Memphis, Little Rock, Birmingham, or Huntsville after payment clears. I’m not a dealer just a player. Been fortunate to accumulate some cool gear over the years and just now finding time to list some gear again. Ask any questions and I will respond as soon as I can. I’m here to help. No returns. All sales final.
