Up for sale is a brand new Big River “Moses“ T - Style guitar. The body is made from Eastern White Pine and was prepped; sanded, pore filled and sealed. It was then given 12 coats of our custom mixed Lake Placid Blue Nitro and was left to do its thing. When it was ready it was wet sanded, buffed and relic’d. The checking throughout this tele is awesome, unfortunately with this color it’s tough to pickup on camera. For the bridge I went with a Gotoh ”In Tune“ Ashtray Bridge with compensated brass saddles, which was aged in house, along with the rest of all of the hardware.

The neck is roasted maple with a Roasted Maple fingerboard. It has a 9.5” radius, 22 medium jumbo frets that have rounded and hidden ends, a medium C shape which is more substantial than a modern C shape on a typical Fender, bone nut and i used a set of hipshot locking tuners that I aged to match the rest of the build. I finished the neck with several thin coats of lacquer, and it was buffed out to a super smooth satin finish with a Callaham String Tree. All of my necks receive a fret level, crown and polish prior to being bolted on. This neck is killer!

Under the aged white pickguard, I built a vintage style harness with all premium components consisting of an Oak 3way switch, 250k CTS pots, a NOS .047 Mullard Tropical Fish cap, a Puretone 4 prong input jack for extra durability, and Gavitt cloth pushback wire throughout.

The pickups are a killer set of Onamac Windery‘s ”Tall Blues” Tele pickups. Here is what they had to say about them…..

“This is a made to order blues tone Telecaster pickup set, also known as the Tele Tall Blues set. The taller coils offer clean clear nothing but the blues tones from these unique hand crafted beauties. Made using; hand guided scatter winding, custom gray bottom flatwork, tall alnico 5 magnets, 43 awg heavy Formvar wire for the neck, 42awg SPN for the bridge, waxed cloth pushback leads and like most of my pickups these are wax potted while held in a vacuum for a quiet coil. The problem with many "blues" or hot Tele neck pickups is that they are nothing but a Strat pickup in disguise, that's not the case here. This calibrated pair of pickups is the result of numerous trials each with it's own tweak along the way until they were just right.”

“The lack of a cover helps make the warm neck pickup retain outstanding clarity. It's a scooped, sweet articulate tone that has great note definition. The bridge is a special stout blues pickup that compliments the neck position well. They both sound incredible clean and work just as well with pedals for a variety of applications from country to hard rock.”

“Both pickups come standard with black string wrap on custom made gray bottom bobbins with an obviously missing cover on the neck pickup. The killer blues tone is due a number of factors including the right mixture of magnet/wire combined with taller than normal coils*. If your Tele has got too much twang and not enough growl this could be your set.”

Anyway this “Moses“ T-Style guitar feels like vintage instrument. And it should because it was inspired by several vintage Telecasters, just with some modern upgrades. This Tele plays and sounds like an absolute animal while punching way above its weight class! Get your hands on this one quick it won’t be around for long!

Here at Big River we've started doing our
own Nitro finishing on guitars. We mix our
own colors to try and closely match the
classic colors of the golden age of Strats
and Tele's . We are also mixing some
more modern Fender colors as well.
Some guitars will be relic'd, some will just
have that incredible old school feel.

My instruments receive a full setup, with a
deep body/neck cleaning and polish. All
gloss maple boards are polished, while all
rosewood/darker boards receive an F1 &
lemon oil treatment. make sure all
electronics are in working order and if
something under the hood needs to be
changed, I make that determination
based upon what type/year guitar im
working on. But either way I am upfront in
my listing. Guitars are set up with
D'Addario XL 9-42's. Action is checked.
and adjusted to Low-Med if necessary.
and tuning and intonation is set on all
instruments before I pack them to ship.

It always made me feel good when i
pulled a guitar out of a box and basically
only had to tune it up to pitch and away
you go, so I try to afford you the buyer, of
that same courtesy. Understand though
set ups are a truly personal thing. I
cannot guarantee everything but I try to
use the bell curve when it comes to
setting up instruments, so even if there is
something you wanted changed it is not a
big ordeal. Feel free to ask if there is
something specific you would like.
