This is a very fine old French violin, full size, Mirecourt, from 1900. Labeled LUTHERIE ARTISTIQUE NICOLAS CLAUDE. It has the sought after French tone.. Big, clear, open ringing tone, projects, and plays great. It came from the violin shop in Nashville, TN for $3800(will include original price tag). Professionally set up with aubert deluxe bridge, thomastik dominant strings, ebony tailpiece and chinrest. Has varnish wear around bridge, some edge wear, knicks and scratches, but no cracks(there is a gouge/mark under treble foot of bridge, it is not a crack. Was there before shop priced it). Ready to play, gorgeous flaming on ribs, scroll, neck, and back. Ebony trim around The scroll in The typical French style. The one piece back has great deep flame that is almost 3D looking depending on the angle. It is hard to capture in pics. This is a great pro level violin or fiddle offered at a very good price.
