Fender Precision Bass 1963

Introduced in 1951, the Fender Precision Bass was the first production electric bass ever; a truly revolutionary instrument in its time. Meant to be the counterpart to the Telecaster, the P-bass underwent numerous optimizations during the '50s until taking the form we know well today in 1957. This particular piece is from 1963 and has a couple modifications to it. Firstly, the original pick-ups have been replaced with EMG active pick-ups, along with the pots, by EMG as well. Secondly, it has a Badass bridge II which is in great condition, but a little worn. The instrument itself is in very good condition and the neck is straight and fast. The EMG pick-ups give it a ferocious bite, and the action feels good on the fingers. We also believe this instrument has had a refinish in its long life, and that finish is very dry and cracking quite a bit, making this P bass a possible candidate for another refinish. This bass ships in a Fender molded hard-shell case.
