This is a very 'sweet' 3/4 sized violin, made by M. Neuner & Hornsteiner in Mittenwald, Germany. . . one of the premier classical instrument builders of the past few centuries!
It's in excellent condition: no cracks, or separation between seams. It has a four post fine tuning tailpiece, and nice 'flamed' grain on back, sides, and neck. There are a few minor nicks, one scratch on back, and bottom, and an odd 'monogram' of initials on the left top section. (see photos) The bow was made by Max Wunderlich, who is a very respected bow luthier. If you Google him, you will see his bows go for $1-3,000! It's in exceptional shape, only missing a few broken hairs. The label inside this violin states: "M. Neuner & Hornsteiner" and below "aus Mittenwald an der ISAR" The handwritten date is 1891! Across on the other side of the back is a small tag with the numbers - "2075" The case is in exceptional condition, and looks like a "Bobelock" style case, with two internal compartments, four bow hangers, and even a cool clear plastic tube for strings! It also has a zipper space on top for sheet music, a shoulder strap, for carrying. One zipper for the canvas cover is broken, but all latches, handle, etc, make the case totally secure for carrying.
