 Before the Electro Voice 726 Cardyne microphone there was the 730 and 725 Cardak model (with dual elements) which while very similar...has a more distinct front grill. The sheer size of this beauty would make one think it's a ribbon mic but it's not. The mic does not produce a signal currently but would be ideal for a fix or upgraded element. This mic comes with the slightly newer (1950's) Atlas DS-10 desk stand.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old E.V catalog from the 1940's.

 Pic # 3 shows this very model mic being used by a class lady all dressed up and looking fine.

 Introduced in the mid 1940's...this was the competition for the famous Shure 55 Fatboy when the 725 was introduced though it never measured up in sales and popularity. It's virtually the same size as the "Fatboy" though narrower in stature. It's got quite a bit of weight and equally impressive in its design. A must for any hardcore collector of early American microphones.

 As seen in the pics provided the microphone does have a bit of wear in the form of scratches, fine pitting and scuffs. There are no fractured or bent ribs which is always a bonus. Best part is the dark black silk screens up front are free of any holes or shrinkage. It's dark and evenly colored. The rear burgundy screen is slightly faded but free of any holes or rips. The on / off switch slides smoothly and the E.V label looks very nice. The microphone still has a nice luster and plenty of character.

 The joint mechanism offers plenty of firm resistance to keep this heavy microphone at just the right angle needed. This classic microphone is 100% complete. The threads for both the stand and cable are perfect. This 725 is a rare bird indeed.

 It's going to grab plenty of attention anywhere it's displayed in the home, office, studio or Man cave. Despite obvious signs of wear this mic is a solid 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.

 The stand is an Atlas desk stand from the 1950's made in Brooklyn, NY with a painted aluminum base and 4 inch riser. This stand was called the DS-10 "Streamliner" and was a very modern design for it's time looking like nothing else for sale then or since and it compliments the 725 nicely. Makes for a very stable platform as well. There is a very nice Sea Foam Green paint on the base and there is a nice center chrome accent piece that shows a bit of wear. All 5 original pads are still present and are in great shape to keep this stand from scratching any surface it may rest on. No dents or fractures on the base. Total dimensions with mic and stand area appx 13 inches tall X 5 inches wide X 7 inches deep.

 This mic with stand will draw attention anywhere it's displayed in the home, studio or office.
