Check out this gorgeous Heritage Series Moderne that bears a "Gibson Original Prototype" stamp on the back of the headstock.

This Moderne is part of the run that began Gibson's effort to return to their electric guitar heritage after the changes that the 70s brought to their line.  Previous reissue efforts included the "1958 Reissue Les Paul" of 1971, which is really a reissue of a 1954 or 1955 Les Paul, and the later 70s effort to revive the Les Paul Special.  The Heritage series guitars are more accurate to the old designs and quality.

The guitar is in excellent cosmetic condition with frets that show little wear.  The low, ink stamped A serial number indicates that this is an early one.  It plays effortlessly with a perfect neck angle, newly polished frets, and a nice setup.

Parts are original, however it does appear that someone has replaced the pickups with a set of 1982 Shaw humbuckers - pickups that are correct for this model and well-liked by players - but they are not original to the guitar, which was built in 1980 at the start of the run.  This is evidenced by the ink stamps on the back of the pickups and the changed solders where the pickup wires hit the original pots.  Pots date to early 1980.  Everything else on the guitar is original and there are no repairs or changes otherwise.  Original 1980 Shawbuckers pop up for sale and can easily be swapped back into the guitar, with the 1982 pickups being an easy sell.

The original case is included, also in excellent condition.

The case is really large.  Shipping will be expensive.
