Unbranded Single Cutaway Heavily Aged Guitar Chibson w/Upgrades

Here is an Unbranded Les Paul Style single cutaway guitar from China, which are often referred to as Chibsons.  Key things to note when buying a Chibson is that you never know what the shape will look like, especially the lower horn in the cutaway.  To get one like this one that actually is identical to a Les Paul cutaway, and not sticking way out to the right like most Chibsons, makes it a keeper.  Additionally, I made numerous upgrades to this guitar that makes it immediately playable, and could even be a gigging guitar when you don't want to lose or damage a more expensive guitar on the road.  Upgrades to this guitar include:

- Gotoh SD-90 Locking Tuners
- Bone nut
- Replaced all cheap Chinese pots with CTS 500k pots
- Replaced cheap Chinese knobs with U.S. spec Gold Top Hat Knobs
- Orange Drop tone capacitors
- Switchcraft 3-way switch

Additionally, these Chibsons are generally a great deal in that they actually are solid Mahogany with real rosewood fretboards.  This one also has a light nitrocellulose lacquer. No polyurethane on this guitar so it feels great to play. However,  most Chibsons do require some fret filing due to  a few buzzing frets. This guitar has had it's frets professionally filed and has no dead frets.  I put the original Chinese pickups back in it because the buyer will almost always put their own preferred pickups in; however, I wax potted them because like all Chibson pickups, they squealed badly.  But no feedback or squealing now after I wax potted them.  Both neck and bridge pickup are around 8k so they are PAF-ish pickups and aren't terrible believe it or not. Does not come with a case, but I will ship it in the same Styrofoam coffin in the ad photos that I received the guitar in from China.  Don't play Russian Roulette and try to buy a Chibson from China because you have no idea what it will look like.  They never look like their website ad photos, as they nearly always bait and switch.  This one has the correct body shape, looks legit and the relic job isn't too bad either.
