Well here is an interesting one... my 24' long "Armoured Cable" instrument cable. It's literally made of what appears to be some type of steel outer conduit/jacketing. :)
Don't know much else about it, and can't find any information on it anywhere, other than it was possibly made by Samson, and discontinued around 2004.
I bought this around 2002 (?!?!) somewhere in LA--and paid something like $80 for it back then--figuring the length and durability were worth it at the time.
Well here it is 12+ years later, and it's still in 100% functional condition. I think that shows just how indestructible it actually is. Wonder why they were discontinued?
Very high quality connectors, and even has 12" of heat shrink tubing at one end so that it will not scratch your instrument body when plugged in to the jack.
Over the years it's become a bit sentimental to me--though I rarely ever used it, and when I did it was only in the studio. Maybe 1 or 2 shows and that's it.
It's really in great shape. Just has 1 very small bend in the armor which I tried to show in the photograph...
