The history of Nevaton began in 1947, when an electroacoustics laboratory was created at the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association (LOMO), which in 1954 was transferred in its entirety to the newly created Central Design Bureau of Cinema Equipment, later Scientific and Production Association "Ekran". In 1991, "Nevaton" was established by employees of the research and production complex of electroacoustic equipment.
