Il Mostro: Triple drive box.

The goal when designing the Il Mostro was to make a super versatile dirt pedal so that I don’t have to carry around 3-4 different drive pedals. And so it delivers 3 switchable drive modes and a hybrid active/passive 3 band eq.

Mode one is a low-medium gain overdrive. It has enough clean headroom so that if you turn down the Gain and turn up the Volume you have a clean booster. Then cut some Bass and maybe add some Highs and you have a treble booster. Turn up the gain and add plenty of Mids and it plays like a tubescreamer.

Mode two is a medium to high gain distortion. It’s tight and aggressive if you add Bass and scoop the Mids, it’s fat and crunchy if you do the opposite.
Mode three is a higher gain bass boosted version of mode two that nails high gain Tool like rythm guitar tones and fat lead sounds.

All 3 modes are very responsive to the instrument’s volume control.
The 3 band eq makes it work with various music styles and guitar(or bass)-amp combinations. On the inside you’ll find a presence-voicing trimmer that you can adjust to taste. Features true bypass switching.
