1965 Mosrite Celebrity II Vintage Hollowbody Electric Guitar in Excellent Condition and in Perfect working order. Made at the original Bakersfield, CA factory in the latter half of the '60s, this model is a very clean and a well kept example. Given the fully hollow maple body, this is a guitar that can deliver everything from Crisp Country Twang to detailed, mellow Jazz tonalities with ease. The pair of original high output Mosrite single coils with embossed covers have plenty of power and midrange heft, with a clear, articulate top end and plenty of Glassy Twang. The neck pickup compliments the bridge perfectly, while being inherently warmer and rounder. Complete with a vibrant and unfaded three-tone sunburst finish, white plastic appointments, and of course the Moseley vibrato unit. This Celebrity will satisfy serious collectors and studio players alike. Weighing 6lbs 8oz, this Celebrity II is dialed in with 10-46 strings.

The neck is a very slender C shape typical of Mosrite profiles, with consistent, slim depth as you move up the neck. It's as "fast" a neck as has ever been carved and exceedingly easy to play for lightning fast leads and chording. The scale length measures 24 1/2" and the guitar retains its original slender/low fret wire on the rosewood fretboard. These frets are inherently quite low just like Semie Moseley liked them, and there is virtually no fret wear on the entire board. The original aluminum nut measures 1 9/16" in width although by the time you reach the zero fret the profile widens to 1 5/8", giving an ideal amount of space between both low and high E strings and the fretboard edges. On the headstock, the guitar is fitted with the original Kluson Deluxe double line tuners, with the exception of the low E which is a new tuner that matches the footprint and style of the other vintage Klusons.

All of the electronics work as intended, with Master Volume and Tone knob in addition to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The Moseley vibrato and roller bridge work together perfectly allowing for subtle warbles and fairly deep dives with a light touch. These vibratos are particularly elegant and easy to actuate, responding quickly and able to deliver trills and more subtle pitch shifts than most Bigsby-esque units. The original hardware is all accounted for with particularly clean and shiny chrome on the knobs, vibrato, and bridge.

Cosmetically, this Mosrite is remarkably clean, with a 100% original gloss Sunburst finish that shows no touchups or overspray. There are curls of flame figuring on the bookmatched maple back and sides, and some prominent vertical checking on the face of the spruce top. There is a scattering of small nicks on the top as well as a few requisite light scuffs on the body as a whole and the headstock. The neck profile is very clean, with a couple tiny nicks, yet nothing substantial or distracting.

Serial Number A0402 specifies that this piece was in the middle of production for the Celebrity II
