Martin HD28V Brazilian 1998 - Brazilian Rosewood / Adirondack Spruce Custom

This was my heirloom that I wish I didn’t have to get rid of but finances got in the way. This is absolutely gorgeous and sounds just as beautiful as you’d think. Very much hope it goes to someone that appreciates and cares for it as much as I have.

Martin’s HD-28V is a dreadnought classic that needs no introduction—but this 1998 beauty isn’t your standard herringbone off the line. It’s been custom-built with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (now CITES-restricted and highly collectible) and an Adirondack Spruce top for a bold, clear, and responsive tone. Add butterbean tuners, a zigzag backstrip, and aged toner on the top, and you’ve got a guitar that’s as visually striking as it is sonically powerful.

This one has been lovingly played since 1998 and it shows in the best way—lively tone, rich resonance, and fast response. It includes the original Martin tweed TKL case and is ready for another 20 years of pickin’.

A minor cosmetic top puncture from a falling picture frame was professionally repaired by a master luthier, with no impact to tone or structural integrity—just full disclosure. A few scattered top dings, light scratches on the pickguard, and faint fret wear under the B string in the first position round out its honest vintage character.
