This is a rare, late 1960/1961 Kay Deluxe 6838 Acoustic Archtop in Tobacco Sunburst. It has a “half-Kelivinator” name plate on the headstock, which was introduced about midway through the 1960 production year. The tones that this thing produces are amazing. Especially in open tunings. The low end makes a nasty growl in DADGAD. It is all original with the exception of the pickguard. It has some dents, dings and scratches, as you would expect from an instrument of this age. It comes with a newer, tweed hardshell case that is as beautiful as the guitar. Don’ let this one slip by you.
All of the items I sell are used. Most of them are vintage or antique. Unless described as such, none will be completely perfect. I describe any defects that I see, but if you have questions the time to ask them is before the transaction is completed. I have no problem responding to questions or requests for specific pictures and I do so very quickly. I have a liberal refund policy, but I will not issue a refund for a cosmetic issue that does not effect playability or tone. Thank you.
