Up for sale is this vintage Fender Deluxe Organ Button lap steel electric guitar in a nice dark mahogany. This would have been the top of the line lap steel when it was first introduced during the inception of Fender. Based on my research, I believe this to be a first year (1946) Fender made instrument.
Overall, the lap steel is in good condition, especially considering the age of the instrument. This 78+ year old guitar has undergone a few modifications over the years. The electronics, pickup, and tuners have been replaced. It appears to still retain the original jack, push button, and resistor with some of the original parts included in a separate bag (see pics). The guitar is in good working condition. The organ button is working correctly--when it is pressed it filters out the treble creating a sound similar to a tone pot rolled off. The lap steel comes with a nice Worcester T&S luggage company case that exhibits some wear but is still functional.
