Roland JP-8080 1998

If you don’t know what this synth is, you probably shouldn’t be looking at it lol!
The JP-8080 is a more powerful 10 voice rack version of the popular JP-8000. It’s a 12 voice virtual analog synth with a legendary ‘supersaw’ wave that is a staple in EDM/ techno music.
For me, this synth played the virtual role of the classic Jupiter 8 in my rig. It was once one of the most beloved synths in my rig, but now that I have multiple analog polysynths in my rig, this beauty just stares down at me in my studio wondering why we never play together anymore.
I am certain I will regret selling this as well as many of the other synths I’ve listed from my rig, but I have some financial issues that must be dealt with.
Condition is excellent....HOWEVER. I have noticed an odd thing happening when I pull up patches through my DAW. I’ll load a new sound, but the lcd displays no change. The sound will load and play no problem, just no change to the displayed patch. I just inspected it as I’m writing this, and the patches and display operate as they should when using the front panel control.
I don’t believe this to be a major issue and don’t recall how long it’s been doing this. My suspicion is that it’s not the synth itself but a problem with a patchbay that I bought secondhand that I’ve recently found is not functioning correctly. However, I’m disclosing this just in case you experience the same issue. There IS a chance this is a precursor to needing to change the battery as well, as I have not changed it in the 6 years I’ve been the owner.
Barring this disclosed issue that may not be the synth itself, this synth is in excellent shape. You can expect a little rack rash and normal wear from rack mounting, but no marks on the face.
I can also throw in blank smart media cards for this synth for $75 each. I have two of them. They are nearly impossible to find.
