About this listing
We've just received a 1968 D-28 that strongly carries on the traditions of Martin's golden age. It features the rich bass, powerful mids, and bright, clear highs characteristic of post-war D-28s, showcasing its true potential across a wide range of playing styles, from strumming to fingerpicking. The dry tone characteristic of the late 1960s, combined with the rich resonance unique to a well-played instrument, offers the charm of a vintage guitar that cannot be found in a new one. Even when playing a single chord, it fills the space with a commanding sound, making it an instantly usable instrument for both recording and live performances. It shows some age-related scratches and weather checking but remains in excellent condition for a vintage guitar that has stood the test of time for approximately 60 years. Its dignified appearance is another major appeal of this particular instrument. In recent years, the reputation and demand for vintage Martins have continued to rise, and the 1960s D-28 remains a consistently popular model on the market. This is a valuable instrument that we highly recommend not only to players but also to collectors. We invite you to experience the distinctive character of a 1968 model and the rich tone that has matured over the years. * Given the condition of the finish, the possibility of a refinish cannot be ruled out. There is paint melting visible across the entire body; please note that the guitar will be sold as-is. * Repair history (repairs currently verifiable): Nut replacement, saddle height adjustment (minimal remaining), neck reset, bracing re-gluing, possible pickguard replacement, and possible refinishing * As this is a consignment item, we are unable to negotiate the selling price.
