The same kind of guitar Keith Richards used in 1969 and Ray Davies used as the intro to "Lola" by the Kinks

Here is a very special 1937 National Style O 14-fret Roundneck resonator guitar! If you've been looking for a really unique National Style O from the 30's, you should pay close attention to this guitar!

This guitar is oozing Delta blues mojo! It's reminiscent of the same Style O that Keith Richards used onstage during the Rolling Stones 1969 US Tour.

This guitar has some miles, but it has so many more miles to go. It was played and played well. The heavy playing has left it missing its original pickguard and original fretboard binding. However, it was played smooth to where the missing binding has no "edge" except in areas where your hand will never touch during play. I barely even noticed the binding was gone until I remember it was standard on Style O Nationals. I have an old vintage National Triolain that is a basketcase, and I use it for parts. I took 6 frets from the Triolian and replaced the lowest 6 frets on this fretboard because they'd been played hard and needed to be replaced. If I hadn't told you, you'd never notice, but for the deep fretboard impressions.

The neck has that full V profile and appears to be mahogany. The front and back of the peghead has aged and the National inlay is still there, but it is faded and somewhat 'dried-out', hehe. It has such a cool, vintage vibe and appeal.

The nickel has faded and worn to an even patina. The tailpiece has also faded and lost its shimmer. The sides have the plain etched band, so it's not identical to Mark Knopfler's, but it does have the etched Hawaiian scenes still visible.

All the parts are original. It even has the distinct "Crow's Feet" cover!

It is LOUD and it's distinct. If you watch the video demo, you'll see what I mean. It is the loudest Style O I have ever played. I generally avoid these because I prefer the metal on the Triolians and Duolians, but I couldn't pass this up. Now, I'm sending it long to a new owner to enjoy. The action is ideal for slide. If you want it to be more of a finger-picking guitar, you will want to shim the neck. I use these exclusively for slide, so I like higher action. The 14-fret makes the tone much more crisp and direct.

The case is old, but not from the 1930's. It fits it perfectly. It may be an old Dobro OMI case? It is awesome and looks great and is fully functional. It really compliments the guitar well.
