For sale is a 1960's Sears Silvertone 1484 - Twin 12 - Piggyback Amp. While specs say 60 watts it is more realistically in the 40 watt range. If you are looking at this listing, you know that these amps sound great but are usually not in great condition. This one is in excellent condition for one of these. It is all original electronically, except for the electrolytic capacitors, which were professionally replaced with modern caps. The metal tube caps were replaced as well, and the original metal tube was kept. The transformers are original and in excellent condition, as you can see in the pictures. It has vintage 6L6 power tubes, and the 2 outside preamp tubes are original Silvertones. The 12ax7's are modern tubes. The speakers are modern Jensen C12Q's in mint condition.

And finally, the big question with these amps is the reverb: it is fully functional and very audible, as well as the trem, which is incredibly good. The circuit board and metal parts are some of the cleanest I've seen on these amps, with almost no corrosion, this is my third, and I've seen many. It has the original 2-prong plug and the original cable connecting the head to the speakers. The head fits perfectly in the speaker cabinet container.

The grey cabinet covering is in very good condition; again, for these amps, only the bottom corners of the speaker cab are worn. The speaker grill cloth is very clean, with no damage. All the logos and stickers are there and in good condition. While in my possession, it has never been gigged and only used for studio recording. Great vintage and unique tone.
