Six String Effects Buzzard - Yellow

The Buzzard starts off as an overdrive with a moderately different texture from conventional overdrives.  It's useful for chunky, back-up, rock rhythm without the saturation and compression that confuses the effect and prevents penetration within a band.  Clarity and dynamics are achieved without the need to mix the driven signal with the clean signal.

The above description applies when the "Grit" control is set to zero (7:00).

As the grit control is rotated clockwise, a ripping or tearing fuzz effect will become noticeable until it reaches a point at the maximum setting where the signal is randomly gated on and off.  The ripping or tearing effect converts the conventional overdrive signal to an agressive and intrusive fuzz-type tone that adds vitality to both rhythm and lead parts.  The grit control will span the range of "tear-up" from subtle to acute for adapting the effect to different styles of music.  Advancing the gain control will accentuate the grit effect.

Since the grit effect chews-up part of the guitar signal, compensate the loss of signal by increasing the volume control.  Additionally, it may be useful to increase the bass control and reduce mids and treble as the grit control is advanced in order to maintain presence.

Roll-off guitar's volume knob from 10 to 7 for clean-up (in most cases).

In general, a small change in the guitar's volume control can cover a wide range of dirt: from clean to distortion.
