1920’s No Name Parlor Guitar REGAL 1st National Institure of Allied Arts Gibson Kay Harmony Washburn Lyon Healy Silvertone

Very unique headstock with beautifully preserved black button, 3 on a strip, Waverly tuners. Guitar has gold painted side binding which is a feature I haven’t seen on any other parlor guitar I’ve owned; normally you’ll see white, cream, black or sometimes brown but this gold is a nice touch. Perhaps a “Del Oro“ (of gold) brand guitar?

Looks like tailpiece may been changed at some point or perhaps another style was used as there are screw holes in bottom edge indicating another tailpiece or something was installed. The bridge may not be original but the there is a “tan line” showing that a larger base was used at some point.

Guitar has wear commensurate of age and use. There are dings, dents, scratches evident of a vintage guitar. There is a small crack on top of body by tailpiece. Guitar could probably use a neck reset for best playability. Missing dot fret marker.

I received a message from a fellow Reverber about this guitar:

“I wanted to let you know that this is a regal built guitar from the mid 1920s. This headstock shape was used on guitars for first national institute of allied arts guitars and other mail order companies. These guitars are made of birch, with heavy ladder bracing. That isn't the original tailpiece as you rightly observed.”

See pics for more details. No case or gig bag but guitar will be packed safely and shipped quickly.
