Foo-Fighting Precision Style

Throughout a long career that started with hardcore punk and flourished first with Sunny Day Real Estate and then the Foo Fighters, there has really only been one main instrument for melodic yet hard-hitting bassist Nate Mendel—his 1971 Precision Bass. Fender now brings you the Nate Mendel P Bass, modeled after his beloved, battle-hardened instrument and sharing its subtly distinctive features, including the special body contours, extra-slim neck, lightly worn finish, powerful Seymour Duncan pickup and more.

Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Split-Coil Pickup

The Nate Mendel P Bass is equipped with a powerful Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound™ split single-coil pickup that produces seismic low end, solidly punchy midrange and exceptionally clear and well-defined high end.

Light Road Worn Lacquer Finish

The lacquer finish on Nate Mendel’s signature Precision model lets the body wood breathe with more natural resonance. Its light Road Worn finish and hardware treatment imparts a cool aged look and feel, conveying the impression that this instrument is only banged up a little despite the many miles put on it.

Slim Neck Width And "C" Profile

The neck of the Nate Mendel P bass has a comfortable "C" profile (the shape of the neck in cross section), and is 1.615" wide, which is slightly narrower than the customary 1.625" neck width of modern Precision Bass models.
