Andy Bennett
Guitar MM004
I built this "MM" Series guitar in 2017 and strung it in June of that year. The playability is excellent and the sound of the guitar is full and clear with a good balance of bass, mid range and trebles. The Top was replaced about a year ago because of some damage it sustained. It is Redwood from the Northwest and it has a blemish at the bridge and a few minor marks on it from being played. Sides and back are Honduras Mahogany and the bolt on neck is laminated African Mahogany with a double acting truss rod. The "Port" in the upper bout side is my signature "Fleur de Lis" design. Fingerboard is Indian Rosewood, peg head overlay is Cocobolo with a Fleur de Lis in Mother of Pearl, bridge is Brazilian Rosewood, and the top purfling and sound hole rosette is "Corral Snake" by Michael Gurian. The finish is a wipe on poly varnish. The size of the instrument is very similar to a OOO Martin and the top is custom-braced with a bent bracing pattern that I have been developing for the past 6 years. The tuners are Gotoh black Mini's. The scale is 25.7" with 14 frets to the body...24 frets overall on the "B" and "E" strings and the nut width is 1 11/16".
There is a L.R. Baggs LB6X pickup installed.
