Eastman 817E 2003

Right here is an 817E 7 string Eastman jazzbox from 2003. This guitar is a beautiful instrument perfect for anyone looking to expand their jazz guitar or acoustic playing. With a simple layout of only a single pickup and a single volume wheel this guitar lends itself to be a “blank canvas.” The guitar is a unique red/brown color that I haven’t seen on many other guitars and the flamed back and sides provide a fascinating depth and sophisticated look for the instrument. There are very minor dings on the top of the headstock (as picture above) but other than that nothing else really major. I replaced the original pickup with a Kent Armstrong 7 string pickup and it will be shipped along with the guitar. The guitar also ships in the original hardshell case.

The note pictured above was left with the guitar and helps provide some more historical context for the guitar. It reads: “This 7 String guitar no. 245 is the first production Eastmen 7 string to be sold worldwide.” From what I could tell by my research it seems like Eastman did not start producing “factory made” guitars until about 2004, which if my findings are correct would most likely make this guitar either a custom order or a pre production model.
