This is an exceptionally rare original 1960's factory left-handed Hagstrom bass. The serial# indicates that it was manufactured in '66 or '67. Other than a small chip in the finish near the strap button (look at the last pic) and a couple of little dings around the headstock and some light scratches and small blemishes, this bass is in great condition - looks great, plays great, with no wear to speak of. It pretty much sat unplayed in a closet for 50 years in its original hardshell case (included). The case is a little scuffed-up on the outside, but is like new on the inside with the original key in the original envelope still in the internal compartment. If you are looking for vintage lefty instruments, you probably won't be seeing a nicer one of these. While it does play OK, other than a new set of strings in the early 80's (flatwounds, that still feel great) and a more recent control cleaning, it hasn't had anything done to it in 50 years and would certainly benefit from a professional tune up.
